Hold a public barbecue or horseshoes tournament to draw potential members. Our Aeries are perfect for hosting gatherings and encouraging social interaction. When the weather changes, people are ready to break free from the house and enjoy the great outdoors. Give them the perfect outlet with the Eagles!
April is also a wonderful time for communicators within the organization. This month, the first of our full-color semi-annual Soar reports will reach every Eagles household. This beautiful piece will provide the latest information from all departments of the Grand Aerie in an effort to keep all of you as up-to-date as possible on Eagles happenings.
This month is also your last opportunity to purchase an ad for the 2012 International Convention program book. The program book is one of our most underrated communication avenues. Given to each member who attends the Convention, this full-color book is your best opportunity to share how proud your Aerie/Auxiliary is to each and every Eagle.
While selflessness and a giving spirit are cornerstones of the F.O.E., don’t be afraid to advertise your efforts. The more hands we have on deck, the more greatness we can achieve.
Fraternally,
Mel Fry
A Message from the Grand Madam President
Wednesday, February 15, 2012
Brothers and Sisters,
I hope 2012 has been as wonderful for you as it has been for me. It was a pleasure to begin the year with the introduction of friendly new faces in Georgia, Alabama and Texas. With each stop on my tour around the jurisdiction, I am more and more proud to serve as your Grand Madam President.
With each passing month, I feel more and more privileged to meet so many wonderful brothers and sisters around the country. My tour across the United States and Canada has only proven my belief that we must continue to work together. When an Auxiliary or Aerie works together to help a family or a charity, great things often happen. When all of our Aeries and Auxiliaries come together for a cause, even greater things can be accomplished.
Communication is the key to bringing us together, which is why we’re proud to bring you Soar – The Official Bulletin of The Fraternal Order of Eagles Grand Aerie. Since Soar was unveiled to our members via direct mailing in late January, we’ve received tremendous positive response.
We hope that enthusiasm can carry over to our various efforts on a local, state and International level, including finding a cure for the nearly 30 million Americans and Canadians stricken with diabetes. With a continued joint effort from the Eagles, we can end their suffering.
Any task is possible when we all work in “Purr-fect Harmony!”
Fraternally,
Gwen Stallkamp
